Agave ‘Blue Glow’ is a stunning hybrid agave, a cross between Agave attenuata and Agave ocahui. It is prized for its compact size, striking blue-green foliage, and red-edged leaves, making it a favorite in modern and drought-tolerant gardens.

Key Features:

  • Size: Grows to about 45-60 cm (18-24 inches) tall and 60-90 cm (2-3 feet) wide.
  • Foliage: Thick, smooth, blue-green leaves with a striking red and yellow margin that glows when backlit.
  • Growth Habit: Forms a symmetrical, solitary rosette (does not produce offsets like some agave varieties).
  • Flowering: Rarely flowers, but when it does (after many years), it produces a tall bloom stalk with yellow-green flowers.

Ideal Uses:

  • Feature plant in rock gardens or containers.
  • Drought-tolerant landscaping (xeriscaping).
  • Accent in modern gardens due to its clean, architectural look.
